High, low, everywhere we go...

What a weekend I'm having! And it's not even over yet. Here are the edited highlights and lowlights so far:

A horrible rat incident (that's 'rats' plural actually...am still too freaked out to write about it but it was BAD)

Crying over a new way-too-short haircut (I look like a pinhead...wahhh!)

Fantastic night at friends' house involving drunken Nintendo Wii-ing (I so want one now!)

Crashing hangover today, not enough sleep, more angst about bad haircut and pinhead-ness (wahhh! #2)

The lovely b emailing me with the translation of my German review as done by her sister (so so kind, thanks again b and wonderful sister!)

And best of all... I have a new nephew, born yesterday. Ahhhh!!!! The world is a lovelier place. Even with this hangover.

Congratulations Auntie! It can't be all that bad then with a bonny baby boy to spoil.

Hope you're feeling better soon and that the haircut starts to 'fit' soon. I recently had mine cut, four inches off the bottom and added a fringe, hated it for four days but now, well it 'fits.!

Happy Sunday x

My friend has suggested that naked drunken wii is fabulous. I have still to try it! (I'm assuming he meant in private and not a group activity!).

And congrats on being an aunty again.

Welcome to your new nephew; we also want a wii, but have to wait until Christmas; I've had many haircuts that I've hated; rats??

Happy to help :) I will thank my sis again for you!

Hope the hangover has left! And the rats are no longer tormenting you, whereever they are/were. We've had meeces and rats in our kitchen before. It was VERY traumatic.

And yay new nephew! That will always help things seem better :)

Cheers L-Plate! I love being an aunty - all the nice bits and none of the sleepless nights...ahhhh.
Wow, your new 'do' sounds quite a change - I'm glad you like it now. I hate mine, it looks completely crap so I'm really hoping that in 4 days' time I'm less gutted.... (maybe it'll take 4 months though...)

Caroline - naked drunken wii!!! Now there's a thought...

Mjm, thanks! There has been much pestering for a wii ever since we got home and I feel so weak and feeble with this hangover I am finding it hard to resist. But they are so expensive!! I think it'll be Christmas for us too. Re the rats - "Come and look at these baby hamsters!" my youngest shouted, pointing out of the window. They were not baby hamsters. They were baby rats - eight of them scuffling round the front of the house.... EIGHT!!! All vanished though, just as quickly as they appeared, thank God. BRRRRRR. I hate rats!

b - new nephew has made everything seem better, am filled with love and warmth and have stopped worrying about rats plopping through the letterbox in a brown furry swarm...

I'm trying to imagine what your rat incident was?! Mine was sad really. Remember the days of storage radiators? Things full of bricks? I was after a young rat and it dissappeared into that. I took the thing apart screw by screw, brick by brick. Eventually I could see it, and I killed it with a long knife. I immediately regretted it, and even now feel bad recounting it. Its just a shame that, with certain animals, we have a conflict of interests. Wish it could be different.

Oh Ernest...how horrible!! I actually wish yuo hadn't told me that, ugggghhh. My rat experience wasn't as bad as yours, thankfully, I didn't actually have to kill any of the rats and they all seem to have run away to a new home somewhere now thank goodness...

What a weekend!
Congrats on being an Auntie! That's brilliant news.

Hope ratty has gone. I won't tell you my rat story if you don't tell me yours. I shudder at the memory:-(

When I was trying to get my hair to grow after a diasterous cut, I took hemp seed supplements for six weeks- three times a day, every day. They were AWFUL! Tased like seaweed and as big as my fist. It really wasn't worth it- hair grows anyway.

Lucy, honey, I've still got plenty of hair going begging. Do you want some? On second thoughts, my mad curls might look a bit out of place on your chic hair! Yes really.

Congrats on being an Auntie.

hello - what a lot of interesting news!. i bet you don't look like a pinhead. watch out for the nintendo wii effect, if you're hoping to avoid further sports injury - my old man got tennis elbow playing wiisports - honest!
have you ever tried google translator on your foreign reviews - it's a blast ... they make no sense at all.
(oh - and congrats, auntie) xx

rats are bad, bad hair is bad, wiis are bad, oops, hang on you liked the wii. So do my boys, grrr. baby boys are sweet, how delicious to have a new nephew!

oh, and weird, I DEFINITELY left a comment last week on your german blog because I remember pointing out, how wittily, that I hoped that they'd done a better job on translating your novel than the blurb. How maddening is that. Maybe I failed at the word verification stage. Sometimes when they slant, I just can't get them

Cheers Lane! I can't wait to give my new nephew a little cuddle. The rats are no more. But a person from Environnmetal Health is coming round tomorrow, just in case...

Hi Girl with the mask - mmm, those supplements sound delicious. I took something similar once after I'd had my first baby and lots of my hair fell out (utterly depressing). Didn't work either. I'm going to see if wine does the trick this time...

Oh JJ, you're very kind - I would love some mad curls please. Perhaps a wig is the answer??

Rivergirlie!! Are you blogging again? Hope all's well. Must say, after leaping about pissed as a fart playing Wii tennis, bowling, golf and baseball, my arms and shoulders were a bit on the stiff side the following day...ouch... Bloody exercise, won't be trying that again!

Hi Milla, there are just too many bad things in the world for my liking. Including Blogger for eating your previous comment. (I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with that word verification thing...I often have to have a couple of goes to get it right!)
