It's a Writing Wednesday

Ahhh Wednesday. Lovely Wednesday. A whole day for me to sit here and write, write, write. H-t-b is home again and in charge of the kids today, so I'm scruffing around with unwashed hair, glasses on instead of contact lenses, mismatched socks etc all set for a day on the novel, while he tackles the school run. Bliss.
It's a gorgeous day outside, morning sun just lighting up the branches of the trees, birds singing, beautifully still. Meanwhile, I'm going to be writing about an outrageous night in a Bristol cocktail bar. I can't wait...

Sounds perfect.

You know, I've never thought about doing that - having a day a week just to write. D'oooooh! I am going to arrange it with dear husband. Thank you ...

ps all that you say about the glasses, unwashed etc etc is me today. I look gorgeous! (not at all) x

The hubby did the same for me yesterday. So I am a little bit in love with him today.

But I was less entusiastic than you are about having time to write. I rather wanted to go and about with husband and kids (but he wouldn't let me)...

And about looking unlovely. I am like that EVERY DAY even if I am out and about. I have no shame!

Caroline, do it, it feels like a real luxury having a whole uninterrupted day (says she, blogging and not even having opened up Word yet!)

Pacha, ohhh, good old hubby. Strict hubby, though, making you stay in and write! Did it work?!

Oooh, I want a day like that! Sounds perfect (the bar in Bristol sounds pretty fun too, did you have to research that ;o) )
Might have to show this post to hubby and give him ideas!

Hi Sarah, hope you get your writing day!
And yes, obviously I am doing some extensive research on cocktail bars in Bristol - all part of the job, isn't it? Must make it an authentic read!

A whole day...ahhh, a whole day - sorry, just drifted off into a lovely daydream there! I get two-hour bursts from my partner at the weekend and it feels very luxurious but also short enough not to waste any of it. But I do plenty of procrastinating the rest of the time. He is also quite strict - caught me watching Big Brother the other night and said "Oi, write your synopsis!" And it worked a treat. 'Course if he'd said "Oi, do my shirts" it wouldn't have had the same effect.

I'm intrigued about the socks. Red and green? Blue and orange? Yellow and purple? What colours? I find I need to know. (If they're just black and grey, make up something different to humour me.)

"Oi, write your synopsis!" works for me too, MumsTheWord - maybe we should get some T-shirts printed up?!
Leigh, oh sorry, they were just new-black and old-faded-black, not very exciting at all. (I only have black socks so they are never THAT mis-matched... I'm a disappointment to you, now, aren't I?)

Oh Lucy, those were the days. I spent two and a half years working part time with TWO whole days per week to write. I too do the whole slob thing, it is so good not to have to put on makeup, load and unload the washer in the most awful joggiing bottoms and big cardie. Now, I'm back at work full time though, it's rush, rush, rush. Oh, the good old days. Mind you, I do have lots more money to spend now, just no time to go out and spend it!

Just read your book by the way and loved it. I got it once I became a novel racer. It was really down to earth, a real story told very sympathetically and well, in a very down to earth way. Well done, can't wait to read the next x

Oh thanks very much, L-Plate Author - very nice of you to say so. PS Glad I'm not the only writer who likes to slob it :)
