Shoes OFF!

Have become new-carpet-nazi - shouting at people who dare to wear shoes on it or bring coffee anywhere near it...

Oh dear. Fear I am turning into Hyacinth Bouquet or someone equally tragic. No photos yet of cave either, sorry, still not sorted out.

Snotty ill-at-home child wailing in background and demanding I play Maisy so had better go...

Of course you will be carpet-nazi. I'm sure with time coffee and shoes near your carpet will be less traumatic. I was the same when we painted our walls. Now I don't care what they do with them...
Time cures naziness. (I suppose you call it resignation!)

Pacha, you always make me feel better about my neuroses! Am finding the naziness quite stressful actually, think I preferred not caring!

New houses/carpets/stuff does that to you. I was totally anal about my cooker for ooh about six months. (That was five years ago....) Still pretty anal about my lovely wooden floorboards in the lounge...

Lucy nice to catch up with you again in bloggyland. I LOVE your new cover.

But you can answer your phone and say 'The Diamond residence, the lady of the office speaking:-)

I used to have a beautiful armchair that I swore no dog would ever go on.
Guess where one sleeps now. *sigh*

Hi Jane,

Yes, I think I embarrassed H-t-b today by telling his family to take their shoes off!! I was only joking (kind of - oh, all right, I wasn't joking) but I think they assumed I was... Could hardly bear to watch all those shoes tramping over my new pale as-yet-unmarked carpet...

Lane - that is definitely a good way to answer the phone! ;)
Oh, but I feel your pain re the armchair...still, at least your dog appreciates it too!

I am embarrassed to admit I hsve recently become carpet-nazi and have started insisting on the family wearing ugly slippers. I am indeed turning into a grumpy old woman.

Oh Ingenious Rose (great name) I am with you on the slippers - if only my family would fall into line on the slipper-front, I would be sooo much happier!
Carpet-nazis of the world unite!
